Persimmon Creek Vineyards, a small, family- owned boutique winery, is nestled
in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia at 2100 feet elevation.

Persimmon Creek is the only producer of an estate grown & bottled Riesling. With 18 acres planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, and Seyval blanc, Persimmon Creek produces less than 2000 cases annually.

The soil is sandy loam filled with quartz and mica, which renders a nice minerality expressed especially in the Riesling, the noble grape well known for its terroir transparency.
The Seyval blanc (alias Seyve-Villard 5/276), a vigorous French/American hybrid, is planted along the meandering Persimmon Creek as the variety is known for its remarkable ability to rebloom again if hit by a frost. Seyval blanc was cloned in the mid 1800s, a result of crossing two Seibel hybrids, and is also grown in England near Surrey.
At Persimmon Creek Vineyards, the Seyval blanc is hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel then stirred on its lees in neutral French oak.

The Persimmon Creek Late Harvest Riesling was termed by Jancis Robinson, Master of Wine, as “attractively peachy.” The Persimmon Creek Merlot and Cabernet franc, also well known cool climate grapes, are manually harvested and aged in American, Hungarian, and French oak barrels.
